Look: Everyday Basic

School just started and the teacher in me is now back, grooving to the rhythm of work. I am in my happiest and most fulfilled state when I am teaching but most often than not, the task of being a teacher is too taxing that I forget to spend time to make myself look better than usual. Since I only have a limited time to work with, I resort to using the essentials to glam myself up. Three products are enough to at least make one's look decent -- face powder, mascara and lip balm/lipstick. But allow an eyebrow addict (ehem!) to squeeze in some eyebrow definition to complete my look.

The work of only few products can be blah sometimes but thanks to mascaras, everything changes in just a couple of swipes. Any plain looking face would instantly look alive and beautiful with just  a bit of length, volume and curls of the lashes.

Maybelline has good, if not best, mascaras in the market. No one can go against that, in my opinion. If you have already been with me and this blog around 2011, then you have probably read my review of the  Maybelline Volum' Express Hypercurl Waterproof Mascara. Recently, Maybelline revamped the formulation of the old Hypercurl mascara to make way for the new and better but still very affordable, Hypercurl Volum’ Express Mascara.

I would be going into details of this mascara in my next posts but for now, let us focus on how a few swipes of this mascara made me look decent for my everyday work. For the past weeks, without any fail,I am sporting this kind of look – basic, simple, and plain. It may not be enough for some but for someone who only has maximum of 10 minutes of preparation in a day, this look is heaven.

This look can be achieved with the use of only 3 products in just 3 easy steps:

  1. Even out the skin with a powder. If needed, just dab concealer on the undereye area to make it look awake.
  2.  Apply mascara… tons of it. It magically makes the look glamorous.
  3.  Layer on some lip color and you’re done.

For an extra kick, dab some color on the cheeks using your lipstick and blend away. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, you can also line your eyes with the mascara. How? Just use a slanted eyeliner brush to get some product and line your eyes just like how you usually do. It will sure cling on to your eyes without the fear of it smudging nor fading.

Face: Maybelline White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder | Cheeks: Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush | Lips: Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop | Lashes: Maybelline The Hypercurl Volum' Express

There you go, a simple look using just 3 products. I hope to see your take on this basic makeup look!

Wait, I have to let  you know that the wonderful Hypercurl Volum’ Express Mascara  is just Php249.00 until June 12. Amaaaazing!
