Catrice Photo Finish 18h Liquid Foundation | Review

As I type this post, I am having a break from a stressful workload. I have a ton of deadlines to meet but I am not complaining. After all, I feel so blessed to be stressed! I just need some time off to breathe in fresh air, hence, this post. Makeup and talking about makeup never fails to uplift my spirit.

I was beyond excited to know that Catrice Cosmetics has landed into our local shores. I, still, am not sure where exactly Catrice is available here in the metro but the fact that it is already here and within my reach is enough to excite me. I am in love with their Camouflage Cream (I reviewed it HERE) and I can't wait to try more products from the brand.

The Catrice Photo Finish 18h Liquid Foundation was part of the loot my aunt sent for me to try. Yes, I have had this foundation for a long time and it was just only 3 weeks ago when I gave it a spin.

Makeup with fresh & light formulation and light-reflecting pigments, evens out skin imperfections and perfectly matches your skin tone. With soft focus effect for a naturally glowing complexion without mask-effect. Lasts up to 18h. Oil-free, skin compatibility dermatologically approved. For a flawless & radiant complexion – as perfect as a retouched photo.

Given that I am currently experiencing skin issues and that I badly need to cover the imperfections I have on my face, foundations are musts in my current makeup routine.I don't have much requirements, really. I just need something that has good coverage in one application and stays put for long hours. If its photo-friendly, that would be awesome.

Reading good reviews on the Catrice Photo Finish 18h Liquid Foundation set my expectations on this product a level higher. But as early as now, I'll tell you that yes, the reviews online are not lying. This foundation is indeed, a great one. Here's a rundown of my thoughts on this foundation:

I LIKE that it..
  • comes with a pump.
  • goes smoothly on the skin.
  • has medium to full, buildable coverage.
  • blends easily on the skin.
  • stays on for about 8 hours even without a primer.
  • gives a dewy finish.
  • feels light on the skin.
  • controls oil decently.
  • is able to cover minor skin blemishes and discolorations.
  • has light reflecting particles that make the skin look radiant.
  • affordable for only about Php500.00.

I DON'T LIKE that ...
  • the light reflecting particles it has make the skin look shiny on photos.
  • the shade Caramel Beige is a bit dark for my face.
  • there are only a few shades available.

Caramel Beige looks perfect on my arm but a bit dark on face. I make it work on my face by setting it with a lighter shade powder.

Currently, this is how my face looks like without foundation. Those marks were brought by a terrible breakout I had because of the skincare products I tried some weeks back. All the praises for Belo AcnePro for treating the zits! Anyway, those marks are basically the reasons why I have to wear foundation every.single.day. On the right is how my skin looks with one layer of Catrice Photo Finish 18h Liquid Foundation. Pretty good, right?

It claims to look good in photos. Yes, it does look decent in photos making your skin looks smooth and radiant. But make sure to set it with a mattifying, photo-friendly powder or else you'll look extra shiny and oily. Here's a proof:

Once it is set with powder, this foundation will stay for more than 5 hours. I wore it for a day out with friends and I was surprised to see the foundation still intact after about 6 hours without blotting or touching up.

The Catrice Photo Finish 18h Liquid Foundation is, indeed, a good foundation to try. It may be too much for an everyday wear but if you're like me who has skin issues to deal with, this foundation will sure get you covered. It only has 4 shades available, definitely a downer, but you can work with it for sure.

I can't wait to see and try the other products Catrice has. Can you please tell me where exactly can I find a Catrice outlet/stall here in the metro?

Love,
