Review | Etude House Sweet Recipe Lips-Talk in Slice of Sour Lemon (JBE101)

Some days ago, I had a conversation with the boyfriend about my lipsticks. I remember me convincing him to get me some lipsticks in Japan and him trying to remind me how many tubes of lipsticks I have that I don't need more. Actually, he is right. I have more than what I need. But, I know you'll understand when I tell you that I can not have too many lipsticks. Please don't shoot me when I say I want each in every color and type.

From sheer to opaque. From nude to black. I want it. But yellow? Hmmm. I couldn't imagine myself wearing a yellow lipstick. But curiosity struck when I saw the Etude House Sweet Recipe Lips-talk in JBE101 Slice of Sour Lemon. It is yellow and shiny, something that I usually say pass to, but it is too cute so I gave it a try.

Jelly textured lipstick supplies moist shine and sweet colors for long wear comfort.

So upon reading the description, I found out it won't give that weird yellow lips just because it is sheer. It is meant to make the natural color of the lips to stand out by putting moist and shimmer to it.

What I LIKE:
  • very cute packaging (even the box is cute!)
  • smells like bubble gum/jelly bean
  • glides smoothly on the lips
  • makes my lips look moist and shiny
  • gives a hint of shimmer
  • does not make my lips dry
  • available locally in all Etude House stores
  • has 8 shades available -- Juicy Lychee Skin, Syrupy Strawberry Candy, Sweet & Sour Orange, Chewy Mango Mango, Slice of Sour Lemon, Sweet Cotton Candy Munch, Grapefruit Syrup Tutti and Sweet Plum Flavored Candy

What I DON'T LIKE:
  • does not give any tint or color
  • a little expensive for Php478.00
  • I, personally, can't use and wear it on its own.

Will I repurchase?
NO, not this shade. I am eyeing on JPK003 Sweet Cotton Candy Munch, though.

I didn't bother to swatch it on my hands because it won't show up despite a million swipes but here is how it looks on my lips.

I won't be using the Etude House Sweet Recipe Lips-talk in JBE101 Sice of Sour Lemon alone. I think this will work best when used on top of matte lipstick. I love how it will make some of my matte lipsticks pop with its shimmer!

Please forgive thy face! I have nothing but brows, eyeliner and the Etude House Sweet Recipe Lips-talk in JBE101 (and some pimples on my chest!).
