MakeOver Love 2: L

L is a chinese-looking Pinay! Yes, she is a Filipina. You may doubt it but according to her, the chinita eyes just run in their family. She is the second victim of my semi-ambush makeover.

Just like E, L is not new to make-up. I see her every single day with a cute lip color and a hint of blush. She digs lipsticks and blushes because, as she claims, putting on some colors on her monolids is too hard for her. She sometimes find it too muddy and too overwhelming.

Problems:
  • uneven skintone
  • blemishes
  • VERY obvious pimple marks
  • sparse eyebrows
Status:
She rarely wears eyeshadows and eyeliners because it creases most of the time. Thus, she diverts her make up enthusiasm into blushes and lip colors.

Jes' Plans and Ideas:
  • Double up the foundation so there will be full coverage of her blemishes
  • Wing out the eyeliner to emphasize her Asian eyes
  • Do smokey eyes with a single brown eyeshadow. I'll bring the color up to be seen even if her eyes are open.
  • Use a darker lipcolor.
  • Line the waterline with a white liner to open her eyes a bit.

Before and After Photo:

BEFORE:

Procedures:
1. I applied foundation. I put a second layer to make the coverage fuller.
2. I concealed blemishes and some obvious red marks.
3. I applied a bronze cream base all over her lids and blended the harsh edges.

4. I patted on a brown eyeshadow on top of the cream base. I created a gradient effect just by blending. I made sure that the color was showing even if her eyes are open.

5. I lined the outer half of the lower lashline with the same brown eyeshadow.

6. With a shimmering gold eyeshadow, I lined the inner lower lashline. This step made her eyes pop.

7. I lined the eyes with a black gel liner. I winged it out to emphasize her chinita eyes.

8. To open up the eyes even more, I lined the waterline with a white eyeliner.

9. I curled the lashes and applied mascara. I put on false lashes on the outer part.

10. I highlighted her browbones and inner eyes with a shimmering white eyeshadow. I redefined her brows lightly.

11. I contoured her cheeks with a bronzer and applied a light pink blush. On her lips, I used a pink with a hint of red lipstick.

AFTER:

I did a simple look on her to not overwhelm the shape of her eyes. I found the winged eyeliner perfect to emphasize her Asian eyes and draw a little attention. :) I love the turn-out of her makeover! Through this look, she was able to put on eyeshadow and eyeliner on her beautiful monolid eyes without all the creasing! :)
