Artdeco Art Couture Lash Volumizer

I have always dreamed of having that long and full set of eyelashes. I like how those kind of eyelashes can make the look extra glamorous without spending too much time. I am this near in getting an eyelash extension for an added length and volume but I stepped back on the last minute because of the possible things I might not be able to do. I am talking about swimming and rubbing my eyes. I didn't want to put my money to waste, even if the price of an eyelash extension won't hurt that much, so I didn't pursue.

My wants of having long and full lashes didn't stop there as I decided to just put on a pair of lashes every single day. For the first 3 days it was perfect. I like the length and volume falsies give. But there came a time that I found it too tedious to be done everyday. It was then I gave up on my dreams but still not that much.

As much as I want to achieve both, I need to settle for one as the moment. It is either I go for length or volume. Since I have found my favorite lengthening mascara (read my review here), I decided to look for something that promise to give volume.

Art Couture Lash Volumizer -- the secret of the luxury haute couture look: makes you lashes appear noticeably thick, incredibly long, perfectly separated and enchantingly curved - creates tailored volume effect without sticking the lashes together. The extra-large brush's super-soft fibers move gently between the individual lashes, absorb the texture with dark black pigments and make for an even, intensive color coverage. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

I was a bit misled by the name, Art Couture Lash Volumizer. I think they should have named it an all-in-one mascara just like they did on this mascara or something that would indicate what it does. Reading through the information written on the box itself, it claims to lengthen, separate and curl the lashes alongside what the name implies. Does it perform the job it says? Let's see.

The extra-large brush!
What I LIKE:
  • It adds volume to my sparse lashes. It is not that dramatic, though. Just enough for my lashes to be noticeable.
  • It keeps my lashes curled for a long time.
  • It lengthens my lashes, somehow.
  • The dry formula does need a long time to dry. It will only take seconds to settle.
  • It gives off an extreme black color that help in making the lashes appear fuller.
  • It separates my lashes, making it look distinct.
  • The sleek, black tube looks very elegant.
  • It goes off easily, even with just plain water.
  • It is affordable for Php 895.00.
  • It is available in all Beauty Bar stores and at shop.beautybar.com.ph.

What I DON'T LIKE:
  • It smells weird. I can't explain it, actually, but it smells differently bad.
  • The thick brush could not reach the innermost lashes without the product getting smeared on to my inner eye area or worst, nose bridge.
  • It smudges after some time, especially in this kind of weather.
  • It is not waterproof.
  • It clumps when applied in 3 coats or more.

Will I repurchase?
No.

Notice how thin and few my lashes are? Did I even say that they are stick-straight? Genes may have something to say about that. Good thing eyelash curlers and mascaras now exist!

I coat of Art Couture Lash Volumizer
After 1 coat, my lashes look longer and defined. It adds volume as well but not that much.

With 2 coats of Art Couture Lash Volumizer
Look at the volume it gives after 2 coats. This would have been perfect if it doesn't smudge at the end of the day.

I used the Art Couture Lash Volumizer in this photo. It does not make my lashes appear dramatically thick but at least it makes it show up in photos.

Out of the 2 mascaras I reviewed from Artdeco (check my review on the Artdeco All In One Mascara here), nothing seemed to make it to my beauty book. They tend to miss something (an important element, if that makes sense) in their mascaras that make me not like it. Also, there are lots of better mascaras that are a lot cheaper. Nonetheless, it is not the worst in the market. If you are more of a non-waterproof mascara user and doesn't oil much, then Artdeco Art Couture Lash Volumizer might work for you. But for me, I think I should stay hunting for the best one in the market. :)
