Review: Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Rosy Red

By the time you're reading this, I am heading to UP to submit my final requirement for this semester. Sorry if I sound too excited because I really am excited! Can you imagine how fast time went and I just wrapped up first semester in my masters? A few more to go and you can now call me, Master Jes. I am kidding, of course!

I should stop now and talk about makeup!

I got the Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Rosy Red when I attended the brand launch of Pixi some weeks ago. Honestly, I wasn't really excited about this product. It looks like a regular tinted balm in a retractable jumbo crayon kind of presentation. But one day, when my lip balm was nowhere to be found, I decided to give this a try. And that specific scene changed everything.

Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm - This balm provides hydration, sheer colour & lip stain. With shea butter & lip-plumping hyaluronic acid, it will keep your lips in optimum condition.

I LIKE that it ...
  • glides on smoothly on the lips.
  • hydrates and moisturizes my lips just like a normal lip balm.
  • keeps my lips hydrated and moisturized for about 3-4 hours. Decent enough because other lip balms just do it for just 30 minutes.
  • doesn't feel sticky or heavy.
  • gives a rich red color that lasts for about 3-4 hours.
  • leaves a natural-looking stain on my lips once it wears off.
  • smells and tastes minty, which I super love!
  • is retractable.
  • is available in 10 other shades. I need Radiant Rose and Orchid Petal in my life!

I DON'T LIKE that it ...
  • is a bit pricey. It costs Php790.00.
  • is not widely available. It is only available on Glamourbox and selected Snoe outlets.

Will I repurchase?
YES!

There is a note on the box that says "This balm tints lips with an enhanced version of your own lip color - it works with lips' PH level, so it's different on everybody", so worry not if it won't look like this on you. :)

I love the Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Rosy Red so much that it has been the only lip product I use for almost a month now. This balm can actually pass as a moisturizing lipstick for it gives good color payoff for a tinted lip balm. It may be a bit expensive but the way it does its job its worthy of its price.

Have you tried the Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balms? What is your favorite shade? :)
