Look: Colorful Holidays 1

Oh my, 8 days to go before Christmas and I haven't started my Christmas shopping! Panic mode turned on! Honestly, I only have 3 things in mind to give as gifts to myself this year. Three gifts are not enough! I have been super good this year so I deserve more! Haha! Kidding! I am thinking of getting a domain for MakeUpLove (Yehey! www.jesroque.com sounds cool, right?), the Charm Vegan 14pc Makeup Brush Set (This is my ultimate dream brush set! Pink!) and the Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey Palette (Check out Beauty Pro Cosmetics' Facebook Page! Haha! Spot me there!). The other gifts I want were on the list I sent to my Papa, my Mama Beng, some friends, and the BF. I just hope they respond accordingly. Haha!

I know everyone is wishing for a colorful holiday season and for me, I'll take a step forward by looking colorful. If only I know something about color-blocking, I'll be wearing something colorful too. Haha! So here's my first take on being colorful this Christmas. I mixed and matched the colors which I think represent the season. To make it extra glam, I made sure that everything is shimmery!

The look is colorful yet very wearable. I stepped out of usual neutrals to make way for a look appropriate for this season. Let's start the happiness by looking happy!

Note: The following pictures were taken inside a room with fluorescent lighting, hence, the poor quality.

START:
1. Skip the application of foundation and concealer first. -- We're working with colorful and shimmery eyeshadows which have a huge tendency of fall outs. (Please excuse the defined but messy brows, it was from makeup worn prior to filming.)

2. Prime the lids. -- Better if you also apply a white cream base. This will make the color appear more vibrant.

3. Apply a shimmery pink eyeshadow on the brow bones. Blend it towards the eyebrows.

4. Pat a gold/pearly white eyeshadow on the lid. -- The gold eyeshadow I used is not showing in pictures. Grr!

5. Cut the crease by applying a shimmery blue eyeshadow on the area. Blend it carefully! -- Make sure to still keep the distinct color of the blue eyeshadow.

At this point, the eye makeup should look like this with eyes opened.

6. Apply a navy blue color on the outer V of the eyes. Blend towards the crease area. -- Do this step carefully. The least thing we want to see is a muddy eye makeup.

7. With a makeup remover wipes, clean the outer edges of the eye following the lower lash line.

8. Line the outer 2/3 of the lower lash line with a moss green eyeshadow and the inner 1/3 with a shimmery light green eyeshadow. -- The shimmery light green eyeshadow is not showing up in pictures. :(

9. Line the inner rim of the eyes with a white eyeliner. For an extra kick, put a shimmery light pink eyeshadow on the outer edge of the eyes just like so.

10. Thinly line the eyes with a black eyeliner.

11. Curl lashes and apply mascara. -- You may want to put on false eyelashes. I chose not to to focus the attention on the colors of the eye makeup.

12. Highlight browbones and inner tearducts.

The eye makeup should look like this:

13. Do your face makeup! Apply foundation, conceal imperfections, pat on some blush, contour the face, and redefine eyebrows, if needed.

14. Swipe your lipcolor of choice on the lips and you're DONE! -- I chose a sheer pink lipstick!
