Tutorial: Velous Noir | L'Oreal Butterfly Look

The happiest Monday to everyone! As promised, here's a step-by-step tutorial on the Le Papillon look I did a few weeks back. The look features an easy-to-do smokey eyes and a nude lip, which I think every girl should have a knowledge on doing.

I woke up looking blah on that day that I already thought of scrapping the idea of making the look. Good thing, I realized a little swipe of makeup will do wonders. So there I went, from blah to glam!

Let's start, shall we?

1. Apply foundation and conceal imperfections. Just stick on your own drill!
2. Define eyebrows.
3. Apply a good amount of primer on the eyelids.

4. Apply a silver eyeshadow on the inner thirds of the eyelids. This technique will draw light onto the area making it appear highlighted.

5. Pat a shimmery charcoal gray eyeshadow on the middle part of the lids. Don't mind the messy application, we'll blend it afterwards.

6. Define the outer V of the eyes with a black eyeshadow.

7. Use a light brown eyeshadow to deepen the crease. This will also blend everything together.

8. Re-intensify the colors if needed, especially on the outer V.

9. Line the outer 2/3 of the lower lash line with a black eyeliner.

10. Smudge the eyeliner with the charcoal gray eyeshadow. Further define the lash line with a black eyeshadow.

11. Highlight the inner eye corner and the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line with the silver eyeshadow. Blend everything together.

12. Line the eyes with a black eyeliner. Don't wing it out as we want the eyeshadow to stand out more.

13. Curl lashes and apply generous coats of volumizing and lengthening mascara. Tightline the eyes to make lashes look fuller.

14. Line the waterline with a nude eyeliner. This will prevent the eyes to look smaller. But if you want that sexy look, go for a black eyeliner.

15. Contour hollows of the cheeks and the nose. Make sure to blend flawlessly to avoid it looking muddy.

16. Apply a blush of your choice. Since the eye makeup looks heavy, apply a little amount of blush.

17. You can go on and apply a nude lipstick of your choice to finish the look. In my case, I wanted the stained lips look for this so applied a lip gloss and blotted off the excess.
