Makeup Look: Smokin' Hot | Tutorial

While I am lounging in a hotel room for a much needed staycation also known as I-am-trying-and-planning-to-do-my-MA-paper, I caught myself browsing through the folders in my laptop and found some photos I took but never got a chance to post. Since there's no MA-worthy knowledge flowing in my system right now, I decided to work with those photos, hence, this post and some more posts in the future.

Smokey eye makeup has been a go-to look for me. With complimenting colors and some blending here and there, this kind of look will sure not fail. So whenever I get a new palette to play with, expect me to whip up a smokey look. The POP Beauty Bright Up Your Life was no exception, of course.

For your reference, this is the palette I used for this. Of course, you may use whatever you have that have similar shades to these!

How did I achieve the look?
Ready?
1. Apply your foundation and define your eyebrows. You can opt to do these steps last.

2. Apply eyeshadow base to even out the color and to ensure that colors will last until you decide to take them off.

3. Apply a light purple eyeshadow at the center of your eyes.

3. Pat on some navy blue eyeshadow on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eyes.

 4. Blend the crease area with a light brown eyeshadow. This will deepen the crease while making the colors look seamless.

5. Line the lower lashes with a maroonish brown eyeshadow.

 6. Line the eyes. Skip the dramatic cat eye, we'll have the lashes work for it!

7. Further define the eyes with a black liner on the inner rim of the eyes.

8. Curl lashes and apply mascara.

9. Put one a dramatic pair of false eyelashes.

10. Lightly contour the face and apply blush and highlighter.

Just swipe on a pinkish nude lipstick and your done!
